Welcome to the home page of the San Jacinto Stompers.
We play jazz in the Revival-Style, made popular via recordings made from the early 1940s onward, by such artists as Bunk Johnson, George Lewis, Kid Howard, Kid Thomas, Percy Humphrey, Wooden Joe Nicholas, and DeDe Pierce. These musicians were recorded in many locations around the city and sometimes in their own homes. One of the most popular and prolific venues used for recording was "San Jacinto Hall", from which the band takes its name.
Our aim is to pay tribute to those wonderful musicians and to keep the Revival flag flying in their honour. We are a classic six-piece lineup of trumpet, trombone, clarinet/saxophone, banjo, double bass, and drums, and between us, we have decades of experience, both nationally, and internationally.
If you would like to book the San Jacinto Stompers or would like to know more about us, please use the links on the contacts page.
Thank you
Kevin Scott
